Function of the Cyrix Battery Coupler

The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 24/48V-120A is a microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when one of them reaches a specified voltage value. This indicates that the battery is being charged. If the voltage falls below the float value, the Cyrix disconnects the batteries again to prevent discharge. Its high efficiency makes it an excellent alternative to conventional isolation diodes, as it causes almost no voltage loss.

How the Cyrix-Li-Charge 24/48V-120A Works

The Cyrix-Li-Charge 24/48V-120A connects your battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds if the following conditions are met:

• The "Charge Disconnect" output of the VE.Bus BMS is active.
• It measures 13.7 V (or 27.4 V or 54.8 V) or more at its charger connection.
• It measures 2 V or more at its battery connection (the Cyrix remains open if it is not connected to the battery).

The Cyrix switches off immediately when its control output indicates an open circuit, registers a cell overvoltage or a cell overtemperature. After stopping the charging process, a cell overvoltage alarm is reset shortly thereafter and the Cyrix reconnects the charger. Should the connection attempt not be successful after triggering twice, the delay time extends to 10 minutes. At a battery voltage below 13.5 V (or 27 V or 54 V), the Cyrix switches off with a delay time of 1 hour.
