As of today, March 17, 2025, all photovoltaic products at NYLYN Solar in Austria will again be sold with the regular sales tax rate of 20%. The sales tax exemption of 0%, which has been in effect since the beginning of 2024 and was originally planned until the end of 2025, was recently terminated prematurely by a government decision.
Until and including March 16, customers could benefit from the attractive tax exemption and thus save around 16.6% on the purchase of solar modules, balcony power plants, and systems up to 35 kWp. This subsidy significantly contributed to a boom in private and commercial photovoltaic installations and facilitated the transition to renewable energies for many.
The reintroduction of sales tax now means a noticeable price increase for new purchases of photovoltaic systems. Products that previously cost, for example, €1,000 tax-free, will now cost €1,200 again.
