Victron Energy AC Sensor 40A (CSE000100000)

The AC sensor from Victron Energy is a simple and effective solution for measuring AC current, power, and energy of a PV inverter. With a maximum input current of 40A, this external sensor is perfect for your energy monitoring.

Features

  • Measurement of AC current and power (VA).
  • Calculation of energy (kWh).
  • Easy connection to Multi or Quattro inverters.
  • Transfer of values to the VRM website or a GX device.

Compatibility

Hardware Requirements for Multi and Quattro
  • The Multi or Quattro must have the new microprocessor. Make sure that the 7-digit firmware version number starts with 26 or 27.
  • The TEMP Sense input of all Multi and Quattro is suitable for the AC sensor.
  • For Multiplus-II hardware version 0 to 8, the AUX input is located on the RJ12 connector, Pin 1 and 5. In later versions, the AUX input is available again as a normal connection.
  • The Multi or Quattro must be connected to the VE.Bus port of the Color Control GX. The display does not work if the VE.Can port is connected via a VE.Bus-to-VE.Can interface cable.

Installation

  1. Route one of the AC cables of the PV inverter through the AC sensor.
  2. Connect the sensor in the same phase to the AUX or TEMP sensor input of an inverter, Multi or Quattro, in which it is measured by this current sensor.
  3. Configure the power range with the DIP switches and select a power that is equal to or higher than the maximum expected power. For example, for a 4-kW PV installation, the correct DIP switch setting is 5kW.
  4. For multi-phase installations: Add an AC sensor for each phase of the PV inverter and wire it in the same phase to the Multi.
