Victron Energy Connection Cable for Smart BMS CL 12/100 to MultiPlus (ASS070200100)

This connection cable from Victron Energy enables a secure connection between a non-VE.Bus BMS (such as the Smart BMS CL 12/100 or smallBMS) and a MultiPlus (MultiPlus, MultiPlus Compact or MultiPlus-II). It ensures that the MultiPlus is automatically shut down if the BMS detects an alarm state due to low voltage, high voltage, or overtemperature. Once the alarm is resolved, the MultiPlus is reactivated.

Installation Notes

The cable must be connected to the remote on/off connector of the MultiPlus models:

• For MultiPlus 500VA – 1200VA:
  • Black wire to the ON terminal
  • Red wire to the (+)-terminal
• For MultiPlus Compact 800VA – 2kVA:
  • Black wire to the middle terminal
  • Red wire to the right (IN) terminal
• For MultiPlus-II:
  • Black wire to the lower (-) terminal
  • Red wire to the upper (+) remote on/off terminal

Operating Conditions

For the MultiPlus to function, both the load/charge disconnect outputs of the Smart BMS CL 12/100 and the load/charger outputs of the smallBMS must be in the 'High' state. If the MultiPlus shuts down due to low battery voltage, run the alternator or use a battery charger on the primary side of the BMS to reset the system. The MultiPlus will then switch on and begin the charging process, provided it is connected to an AC power source.
