Victron Argodiode 160-2AC 160A 2 Batteries Isolation Diode
Victron Argo 160-2AC Battery Isolator
The Victron Argo 160-2AC Battery Isolator is the ideal solution to enable charge distribution from one power source, such as an alternator, to two battery banks. It significantly simplifies installation, as the batteries do not need to be connected to each other, which saves you time and costs.
Technical Features

- Maximum Charging Current: 160A
- Suitable for 2 separate batteries or battery banks
- Minimum Voltage Drop: approx. 0.3 V at low currents and approx. 0.45 V at nominal current
- Current-limiting connection for generator start-up excitation
- Modern Shottky Diodes for low voltage drop
Advantages of the Victron Argo 160-2AC
Thanks to the use of the latest Shottky Diodes, the voltage drop remains low, which increases the lifespan of your batteries. In addition, the Argo Diode is equipped with a compensation diode that slightly raises the output voltage of the alternator. This compensates for the voltage drop that could otherwise lead to incomplete charging and premature aging of the batteries.
Special Features
Some generators require a DC voltage at the B+ terminal for start-up excitation. While the connection between the battery and the generator establishes a direct cable connection, the isolator diode prevents current backflow. The Argo Diode has a special connection for start-up excitation, which ensures that the generator functions smoothly.
