The Buck-Boost DC-DC Converter from Victron Energy (MPN ORI303025000) is the ideal solution for charging your 12V/24V service battery in vehicles with smart alternators. These alternators, which are installed in modern Euro 5 and 6 engines, do not always provide the correct charging current. With this DC-DC converter, you ensure that your auxiliary battery is always optimally charged.

Engine Detection and Programmability

The converter prevents deep discharge of the starter battery by detecting when the engine is running. Alternatively, the converter can also be activated via a programmable input (D+, CANbus, or (+)15 connection).

Thanks to a user-friendly PC application, the converter can be fully programmed. For this, you will need a USB cable from Type A to Type B. You can set the converter to charge a 12V or 24V auxiliary battery via an AC generator or a starter battery.

Charging Current and Input Current Limitation

The output current is determined by various factors, including:

• The setting of the maximum input current


• The limitation of the maximum operating temperature of the converter
