The current transformer from Victron (MPN CTR120000500) is a practical extension for the MultiPlus-II / MultiGrid-II series. Unlike its predecessor, this model features a wire end for installation, which simplifies handling. With this transformer, you can use the PowerControl and PowerAssist function to optimize your self-consumption with external current measurement.

PowerControl And PowerAssist

With the PowerControl function, you can optimize the power supply if you only have limited AC power available. The MultiPlus-II can deliver a high charging current, which heavily burdens the AC power supply or the generator. Therefore, a maximum current can be set so that the MultiPlus-II takes into account the existing consumption and can only use the remaining amount of power for charging the batteries.

The PowerAssist function expands your possibilities when using generators or shore connections. If the alternative power source is too weak, the MultiPlus-II can immediately provide energy from the battery to compensate for peak loads. When the load is reduced, the energy is again available to recharge the batteries.
