Functionality Of The Cyrix Battery Coupler

The Victron Cyrix-Li-Load 24/48V-230A is a powerful, microprocessor-controlled relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel as soon as one of them reaches a certain voltage value. This indicates that the battery is being charged. If the voltage drops below the float voltage value, the Cyrix disconnects the batteries again. This prevents one or both batteries from being discharged.

How The Cyrix-Li-Charge 24/48V-230A Works

The Cyrix-Li-Charge 24/48V-230A connects a battery charger with a delay time of 3 seconds if the following conditions are met:

• The "Charge Disconnect" output of the VE.Bus BMS is active.
• It measures 13.7 V (or 27.4 V or 54.8 V) or more at its battery charger connection.
• It measures 2 V or more at its battery connection (remains open if not connected to the battery).

The Cyrix switches off immediately when its control output reaches the "free floating" state (open circuit) or indicates a cell overvoltage or cell overtemperature. In case of a cell overvoltage alarm, the Cyrix is briefly reset after stopping the charging process and reconnects the charger. After two unsuccessful attempts to reconnect the device, the delay time extends to 10 minutes. If the battery voltage is below 13.5 V (or 27 V or 54 V), the Cyrix switches off with a delay time of 1 hour.
